Mike learned he had a need for a creative outlet and started writing during the Covid lockdowns. Inspired by the works of Delia Owens, he dove into his first project. Some of his other favorite authors include Peter Mayle, James Lee Burke, and Michael Connelly.
Mike’s first book, Bayou Mystere, is historical fiction that takes place in the rural South. Mike says “the tastes, sights and smells were burned into my senses while growing up.” His novels are fictionally based on real people and places he has experienced, and in Bayou Mystere, he carefully describes the process and magic of how executive recruiting is conducted.
Shortly after publishing Bayou Mystere, Mike began work on his next book The Brothers O’Neill. The Brother’s O’Neill is a story about the Troubles in Ireland from the 1960s to the 1980s. The book is historical fiction based on real-life characters, events, and places. How two brothers took different paths in their lives with very different results.
Mike’s current project is a sequel to Bayou Mystere, The Czar of Londongrad. This newest story takes place in 1991 Europe, notably England, Ukraine, Italy, and Germany. It is about a Ponzi Scheme called Potemkin Village and the fleecing of pension funds during the privatizing of the breakup of the USSR. Watch for that book to come out later this year.
